Air Force Cadet Third Class Malcolm Strong ran the Walt Disney World Marathon for more than just himself; it was a “Run for the Fallen.” Strong ran the 26.2 miles in full military fatigues, carried a 30 pound backpack, and handed out American flags along the route. More importantly to the Air Force Cadet, he carried letters from family members whose loved ones were killed in the service of our country. Carrying a large American flag, the exhausted Strong crossed the finish line to the cheers of thousands of spectators. With tears streaming down his face, he will wear the 2010 Disney World Marathon medal he earned with pride.
